The Committee: procedure for determining matters

Section 33 of the Contaminated Sites Act 2003 (the Act) provides that the Committee is to determine its own procedures. In all cases, the appellant or applicant will be required to provide the Committee with the details of the case, or the grounds of the appeal, or the relevant information, in writing, as prescribed in the Act and/or the Contaminated Sites Regulations 2006 . The Committee will seek written advice or information relating to issues raised in appeals and applications, from the Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Environment and Conservation and from affected or interested persons as considered appropriate by the Committee.

More detailed information concerning procedures for determining specific types of matters is contained in the sections of this website dealing with appeals and applications.
